About The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University

Arcadia has been a leader in study abroad for over 65 years, and in 2009, its existing Center for Education Abroad was elevated to College status, thereby creating The College of Global Studies. It is the first College of its kind dedicated to the delivery and development of education abroad. Building on a tradition of over 65 years of leadership and innovation in international education and research, The College of Global Studies provides undergraduates access to over 130 programs abroad in Australia, Chile, Cuba, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Turkey and Wales. Nearly 3,000 students from over 300 colleges and universities participate in Arcadia University's programs abroad each year. Arcadia continuously strives to provide the highest level of support and service to its program participants wherever they are in the world.

Arcadia Centers

As of 2015, Arcadia University operates physical centers in 10 sites: Athens, Barcelona, Cape Town, Dublin, Edinburgh, Granada, Istanbul, London, Melbourne and Rome. In addition, they have six virtual centers that operate without bricks and mortar, but fulfill the local curricular and pedagogical needs in New Zealand, Cuba, France, Germany and Chile.

The Arcadia centers:
  • provide teaching and learning spaces with classrooms, resource libraries and administrative offices.
  • act as a hub for student activity and community engagement facilitating and encouraging rich interactions that extend beyond the formal learning environment.
  • emphasize experiential programs and the critical connection between coursework and the out-of-classroom experience.
  • serve as a hub for co-curricular and community events. The Athens Center is frequently utilized by local charity groups for fundraisers and community events, while in Edinburgh the center hosts a faculty lecture series attended by academics from greater Edinburgh.
