CIEE Summer Business and Communications Program in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Deepen your business and communications knowledge while broadening your understanding of the role the Netherlands plays in the global market during CIEE's Summer Business and Communications program in Amsterdam. Courses such as Dutch sustainable business and the EU, gender and popular culture, and contemporary television, as well as excursions to fascinating sites and interactions with local businesspeople will ensure you leave with practical business and interpersonal skills that you can put to work in your future career.

Study abroad in Amsterdam and you'll:

  • See business and communications in action in the European Union
  • Go on a weekend trip during each session to explore another European city
  • Explore Dutch castles, beaches, fishing villages, and cities
  • Study Dutch Business in a European Context in the financial heart of the Netherlands (Amsterdam) during Session I and gain an insider's perspective on how business is done in the Netherlands within the broader context of the EU.
  • Study Business and Sustainability in the Netherlands in Session II and learn more about the Dutch business field and business values (specifically social and environmental responsibility), leading to a deeper understanding of Dutch business practices today and in the past.
  • Study Gender, Race, Sexuality and Popular Culture in Session II and be able to address the mechanisms by which popular cultures serves as the dominant site of representations of identity.
  • Study Contemporary Television: Business, Storytelling, Audience in Session III, in which you will explore how television today reflects, the ascendancy of online television, the fracturing of the television audience, and the formal/narrative characteristics of the era of television known as the (latest) "Golden Age of TV," both from a US and Dutch perspective.
