Where You Will Study
As one of Japan's top-ranked private universities, Waseda is known for its high academic standards, liberal climate and large international student body. Waseda's main campus is located in the Nishi-Waseda district of Shinjuku and has more than 50,000 students.
Waseda University's Center for Japanese Language provides Japanese language courses to students at all proficiency levels. The summer program, however, is specifically geared to beginning and intermediate (100-200 level) students of Japanese.
Students who successfully complete the 3-week program will receive up to 7 credits through the Department of Asian Languages and Literature. Students will take comprehensive Japanese and a skills-based course, and will have opportunities to sign up for extra-curricular cultural activities.
Students live in local hotels or home stays. Students will have to find their own accomodations, but they can find assistance through the Waseda Academic Solutions Corporation.
